Day-long arrivals as Flotilla vessels berth at Wick Harbour, greeted by
Harbour Master. Evening programme of quayside entertainment for public
and crews.
19.00 - 20.00 - Civic Welcome for flotilla crews.
19.30 - 22.00 - Pipe band Ceilidh in Pipe Band Hall, High Street, Wick
20.30 - Late - Entertainment in local hostelries - see map for venues
Saturday 23 June
11.00 - Official Welcome to Flotilla - Miss Anne Dunnett, Lord-Lieutenant of Caithness, Wick RBLS Pipe Band in attendance.
- Full entertainment programme, compered by Eric
Farquhar, with supporting maritime and fishing heritage displays and
demonstrations.
- Real Cooperage demonstrations - see a barrel being made from the raw wood.
- Practical blacksmiths and ironworking demonstrations - hear the ring of the anvil!
- See a traditional wooden sailing boat being refurbished - real carpenters at work.
- Regular Film shows of the Caithness Herring Days in the Herring Mart, courtesy of The Wick Society.
- Market stalls - local produce, handicrafts, art and crafts, etc, etc
- Day long refreshments and catering in the Old Fish Mart.
- Braehead Children’s Fun Day - Bouncy Castle, Donkey Rides & Funfair.
Saturday Evening till late
HarbourFest Ceilidh in Wick Assembly Rooms - local bands with a
Highland theme. Licensed bar - tickets £5 at door. Enjoy genuine

Sunday 24 June
Flotilla prepares for the voyage to Lybster - watch the crews readying their vessels.
09.30 - Blessing of Fleet - Wick Salvation Army and Wick RBLS Pipe Bands in attendance.
10.00 - Flotilla casts off from Wick Harbour for cruise to Lybster Harbour.
19.30 - Festival of Hymns of the Sea - Pulteneytown Parish Church, Argyle Square.
